Truth Tectonics

Entire histories lie hidden, lost. People, places, events that once were, once had been, but now never were. By reading this, you have a chance to step into the ranks of the Gnostics, those who perceive the meta-timeline of history that not only grows, but changes, retroactively and unpredictably.

With that knowledge, what will you seek to unearth, and what bury?

A System-Independent Campaign Inspiration

This document is meant for use with tabletop RPGs, as a starting point for a campaign of weird archaeology, time travel, exploration of alternate realities, or cosmic magic. It provides an evocative vocabulary used by initiated individuals who study and vie for control of a world's mutable timeline, and a mechanic for "reality quakes" that upend that timeline. You might use it as a "move" in a Powered by the Apocalypse game, or pair it with other MOSAIC Strict modules to build your own game system around it!

MOSAIC Strict? What's that?

MOSAIC Strict by Michael Prescott is a set of rules for making modular RPG subsystems. MOSAIC Strict documents can be added on to existing tabletop games, or mixed and matched to produce complete game experiences!
